This tutorial explains how to add a “highs” amp to a Stinger integrated radio kit. The vehicle must be non-amplified.
- Connect the speaker wires.
- Locate the speaker connector harness from the PAC interface module. The PAC RadioPro CH4A-JW18 is shown for example. Your PAC interface may be different. (Figure A)
- Carefully cut and remove the Tesa tape from the harness to expose the speaker wires inside.
- Cut the (8) speaker wires in half and leave about 3 inches on each side to work with. (Figure B)
- Figure C shows what the harness should look like at this point. (Figure C)
- Tape off and disregard the speaker wires coming from the PAC interface module (red X mark in Figure C).
- Connect the speaker wires heading towards the vehicle, to the aftermarket amp (red check mark in Figure C).

- Connect the RCA input jacks.
- Locate the RCA inputs jacks on the Stinger radio harness labeled Front Out and Rear Out.
- Connect the appropriate RCA jacks to the aftermarket amp.
- If applicable, connect the chime speaker included with the Stinger kit to the PAC interface module.
- Turn on the radio and test for functionality. Test to make sure the fader is working. If applicable, test that the chime speaker is working.
