If the kit is working except for SWC (steering wheel controls), follow these steps to correct the issue. This article assumes the controls worked with the factory radio before it was removed.
- If you press the steering wheel control buttons, does the PAC data interface module flash?
- If it doesn’t flash, that means the factory controls do not work. Reinstall the factory radio to make sure they are still working.
- Was the correct radio type selected?
- If the radio type wasn’t selected, follow these steps to set the radio type.
- Unplug the PAC module from power.
- Set the proper radio type:
- For PAC modules with dip switches turn DIP switch 3 on.
- For PAC modules with a rotary dial, select number 4.
- Plug the PAC module back in.
- Start the vehicle and wait for the radio to load up.
- Press, then release the program button on the PAC module.
- After 10 seconds, test the controls.
- If the radio type wasn’t selected, follow these steps to set the radio type.
- Have you tried resetting the PAC module?
- Start the vehicle and wait for the radio to load up.
- Press, then release the program button on the PAC module.
- After 10 seconds, test the controls.
- If the steering wheel controls still don't work, contact technical support for further troubleshooting. A multimeter will be required for further troubleshooting.
